ALL ABOUT M&M!
Erie's most experienced acoustic duo
Mike and Marie have been performing for over 55 years in the tri-state area. Entertaining is in their blood.
Marie started off straight out of high school by going out on the road playing the Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn circuits in PA, NY, OH, and WV along with her partner Don Denevic. They were also a staple at many of the finer restaurants in the Erie area commonly referred to as Erie's "Sonny & Cher"! Marie has performed with the Erie Philharmonic, Marty Haggard (Merle's son), Barbara Fairchild, members of Herman's Hermits, Raspberries, and in the 1980's, was a member of the house band at Erie's Best Western for 3 years, "Southwind". Other bands included Calico Country, Time Line, The Doggone Good Band, and most recently, Acoustic Ear Candy.
Mike was enthralled watching the Beatles debut on Ed Sullivan and has been a musician ever since. He has played in countless bands in the Erie area, most notably "Abbey Road", "Acoustic Ear Candy", "Haymaker", "Southwind", and "The Sam Hyman Band". Mike has also performed with members of Herman's Hermits, Raspberries, and has been part of the opening act for Ronnie Milsap, Box Car Willie, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. At various times in his career, Mike has also been a radio personality. From 1994 to 2000 he was co-host of the "Automotive Digest" on WLKK, and from 2011 to 2023 he was the overnight voice "Big Al Knight" on WYNE, WMCE, and WSRQ. In March of 2024 he joined the staff at WUUK - Sunny 105.7, once again as "Big Al Knight".
M&M decided to form a duo in the mid 80's, and have been at it ever since. They've been providing entertainment to rest homes and senior living centers for over 40 years, along with a full schedule of restaurants, clubs, and wineries during the evenings and on weekends. With a setlist of well over 2,000 songs (and still growing!) covering 11 decades, they can satisfy MOST musical tastes! Mike & Marie specialize in concentrating on the era they grew up in, the baby boomer age, and it has worked very well for them. They continue to bring back the songs you LOVE to remember!
